Landscape with a River, People and Grazing Cattle

Home/Collections/1700–1800/Landscape with a River, People and Grazing Cattle

Both the composition and the figural elements on these two paintings indicate a knowledge of Italian models and their interpretation in the style characteristic of Flurer. The depiction of the sky shows some obvious relations to similar works of Tempesta.

The attribution of these two paintings to Flurer is very likely although not ompletely convincing: it is possible that they were painted in co-operation with the artist’s assistants.
